The first of those 33 miners trapped underground in Chile for over two months has been brought to the surface. The government ban on offshore oil drilling imposed after the BP spill in the Gulf of Mexico has been lifted by the Obama administration. Officials say new rules will reduce the risk of another blowout like the one that caused the biggest oil spill in the nation’s history.
