Pregnant women are being warned to avoid travel to more than a dozen South American and Caribbean countries where a mosquito-borne virus could cause birth defects. Places like Brazil, Columbia, Mexico and Puerto Rico are on the list. The CDC says mothers-to-be or women planning a pregnancy should consult their doctors before travelling to these areas.
