Using food as a tool to keep kids calm can backfire in the long run. It’s called “emotional feeding” and a new study found that children who are offered junk food, desserts or other sweets to stop those tears can become overeaters who might also deal with bulimia and binge-eating later in life. Don’t just blame the young folks for using cellphones while driving because grandma and grandpa do it too.  A survey found that 60 percent of seniors talk on the phone when they’re behind the wheel. Scientists say eating avocados could help prevent the first stage of type-2 diabetes by improving cholesterol, triglycerides and lipid counts, all of which can contribute to metabolic syndrome.
