California lawmakers have voted down a proposal that would have banned plastic grocery bags in the Golden State. A new study of census information shows a gender gap in pay between men and women with the fair sex on the upside of the equation. The market research group Reach Advisors says median full-time salaries of young women who are single, childless and under the age of 30 are an average of 8% higher than those of the men of the same age group.
