The aftermath of Hurricane Irene threatens to add economic insult to the physical injury done in places like Vermont. Barely 1% of households there have federal flood insurance, meaning much the cost of clean-up and rebuilding could fall on homeowners. A new study shows that happily married people who undergo coronary bypass surgery are more than three times as likely to be alive 15 years later.
