It  might describe the feeling for many people after this year’s presidential election. The Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary word of the year for 2016 is “surreal” which means, “intense irrational reality.” Some runner-ups also came from the political world, like the slang word “bigly” attributed to Donald Trump and “deplorable” used by Hillary Clinton to describe some Trump supporters.
